How might we…
Development
Creating a soft, child-friendly design.
With a focus on both parental needs and child-friendly features, I started conceptualizing a shape that was both comfortable to young hands to hold and reflected playfulness.
My initial designs featured playful animal shapes on a circular base, but user feedback indicated that these shapes were not ergonomic for children and could potentially be hazardous
In the final design, I focused on simplicity to improve usability and retained bright pastel colors to maintain a fun and playful look. I also included a versatile backing with three interchangeable attachment options: a strap, band, or keyring.
Building the Interface
When designing the user interface, I aimed to create an app that not only served to complement Naavi, but also fostered positive parent-child relationships. To achieve my goal, I set three objectives:
👪📱❤️
Enabling virtual bonding opportunities for parents and children
😊👌📱
Creating a simple and intuitive app for parents and children
🎉🎮🗺️
Transform the location tracking experience into something enjoyable
While I removed the animal shapes from the physical device, I integrated them into the app as fun and engaging AR characters. I enjoyed experimenting with various colors and shapes, opting for simple, animal-inspired designs.
